This toll-free consumer hotline number is published in the telephone directory, on all OHS literature, and printed on all hearing aid purchase agreements in the State of Oregon. It directs the consumer to contact the Oregon Hearing Society if they have any questions or concerns.
The OHS Hotline receives the calls, then board members contact the consumer and attempt to answer their questions or resolve concerns. If a problem is severe, the consumer is then directed to contact the Oregon Health Licensing Agency for assistance. Most calls are simple questions or concerns that are resolved before misunderstandings can arise.
